I need a little more PT, and all should be fine. :)

I can't wait to race again when it's really ready to go!Lize Brittinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00851523224709625399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5217271428057557189.post-83899564400817276722011-08-14T06:46:34.995-07:002011-08-14T06:46:34.995-07:00Good for you, Lize! I have a long, long way to go. I ...Thank you both!

I have a long, long way to go. I know.

There was definitely something screwy with the timing. Despite the fact that the first mile had a big hill in it, and the 2nd was flat, I think there was something a bit off. I know either way my time was pretty slow, but I'm OK with it for now. My main worry is how my foot does in the next few days here, and how my pelvis responds with the wonky stride. Heh- no, the grumpy lady was well behind me, but first in line at the beer garden.

Hopefully I can do some good training. If my foot is still sore, I'll jump on the bike for a few days.Lize Brittinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00851523224709625399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5217271428057557189.post-4202107524422585952011-08-13T15:30:58.912-07:002011-08-13T15:30:58.912-07:00Are you kidding me. The two-mile mark was possibly misplaced; you heard 14-something, but it seems unlikely that you sped up to a 7:20 or faster, unless that second mile was mostly downhill. Then again you did say you went out conservatively. If the two-mile mark was in fact in the right spot, you were then on pace for no slower than a 23:15. Regardless, the course is certified and your time is legit. You must have been third and I hope that neither of the two ladies in front of you was the eye-roller you partied with on the starting line.

You have a lot of guts for getting out there in the face of a lot of adversity and knowing you would be a lot slower than in your last road race (from what you say it has been many years since you're run one). Hopefully this will set the stage for some faster racing once your foot lets you train at full bore.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
