Two years ago my now 18 year old daughter suddenly developed an eating disorder/anorexia. Like you she was a gifted runner in high school and had a coach who preached eating healthy and weight gain causes slower times. I won't go into a long story of the past two years as it is pretty much the same as I'm sure you have read/heard about many times. It has been horrible, especially the days and days of her not eating and suicidal thoughts. I stumbled across George Zachs site and saw your site in the site's George follows. I showed your site to my daughter and again I won't go into specifics but you have made a huge difference in her life. She has for the most part recovered, mostly because of your blog posts and inspiration, she still can be triggered but is slowly getting better. We have gone to Corado/Boulder the past two summers, hiking and running, last summer my daughter (Britt) wanted to stop by your work on Pearl Street to thank you but chickened out. She is shy, so I just wanted to say thank you so much!! You are truly an amazing person. All the best, Gord
Thank you so much, Gord. I am so happy to hear that your daughter is recovered! What wonderful news. You have no idea how your comment has touched me. What a great victory for her. Please send her my very best wishes and let her know that I know how tough you have to be to get well. Awesome that she is finding happiness.
I hope that she feels free to stop in to meet me next time you all are in town. It would truly be an honor to meet her.
I will keep her in my thoughts and hope that her healing continues.
